Green Infrastructure – A Closer Look at Stormwater Management, LID and BMP

With the help of reports, articles, data sets, and primary sources, the goal of this project is to develop a comprehensive analysis of stormwater management, low impact development (LID) and best management practices (BMP) in major cities across the United States (New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Houston, San Antonio, Dallas, San Jose, Phoenix, San Diego, and Washington D.C.). Through comparison of green infrastructure initiatives and their levels of progress, the research seeks to provide strategic support for improved understanding and potential of green infrastructure for cities that lack green infrastructure programs. Furthermore, the analysis focuses on the incorporation and feasibility of constructed wetlands into a city’s green infrastructure storm and wastewater management plan.
